Purple Ronnie
Ingenious Corporate Finance advised Giles Andreae on the sale of the Purple Ronnie brand and a range of his children's books, including Rumble in the Jungle, Giraffes Can't Dance and Commotion in the Ocean to AIM-listed Coolabi plc. The transaction was structured to allow Giles an ongoing role with Coolabi and to retain an ownership position in new opportunities in North America, underlining Ingenious' ability to devise bespoke solutions to maximise value for content creators and owners.
Purple Ronnie was created by Giles at Oxford University in the late 1980s, and since sold over 44 million cards and 2 million books, several of which reach the Sunday Times top 10 best sellers lists each year. Purple Ronnie's extensive range of merchandise now includes toiletries, stationery, jewellery, home wares and accessories.
The transaction provided Coolabi with a key opportunity to grow the properties both internationally and in new media.
