Ingenious Media Limited, the UK's leading media investment and advisory group, has announced the appointment of Peter Shawyer as its Chairman. Current Chairman, Patrick McKenna, will take over the role of CEO, following the retirement of Kevin Mead.
Peter joined Ingenious Media Limited in November 2006 as a Non-Executive Director and also a Director of Ingenious Ventures Limited. Prior to joining Ingenious, Peter enjoyed a 32-year career at Deloitte & Touche where he held numerous senior management positions including Managing Partner, European Tax Leader and Partner in charge of the London office. Peter is also a Non-Executive Director of HSBC Bank plc, HSBC France, SilverJet plc, and Chairman of British International Holdings.

Background on Peter Shawyer
- Peter trained and qualified as a chartered accountant at Touche Ross & Co (now Deloitte & Touche LLP).
- In 1995 Peter became Partner in Charge of the Deloitte & Touche London Office where he had responsibility for all of the business service lines including Tax, Corporate Finance, Audit, Forensic Services, Corporate Recovery and Consulting.
- Peter was appointed European Tax Leader in 1997 with responsibility for the Deloitte tax practices throughout Europe.
- In 1999 Peter became Managing Partner at Deloitte, responsible for operations and profitability, including costs. He reported directly to the Senior Partner and Chief Executive and was a member of the UK Executive Group for 11 years.
- Peter also served on Deloitte & Touche's UK, European and Central European boards and represented the firm on the boards of Liberata and Walbrook International where he was chairman until a management buy-out in late 2003.
- Peter also holds a number of non-executive directorships; he is a Member of the Audit Committee for HSBC Bank plc and HSBC France, a Non-Executive Director of Silverjet plc, and he is the Chairman of British International Holdings.
- Peter was appointed Non-Executive Director to the Board and a Director of Ingenious Ventures Limited in November 2006.
